REBUILT 5'7" Steinway M Square Grand Mahogany Satin
Square Grand Pianos are an important part of modern piano development. Square Grands were incredibly popular during the 18th and 19th centuries and a vast number of them were sold. Mechanically different than modern pianos of today, these instruments contributed a number of advancements that are still in use today. At 5'7" in length, this piano's rich tone, responsive action, and manageable size makes it perfect for conservatories, and many homes as well. The square design sets this Model M Steinway apart from the traditional Model M grands.
History: Heinrich Steinweg established his piano company in 1853 in New York. Americanized to Steinway and Sons, it was the largest piano manufacturer in the world by 1859. In 1880, the Hamburg Steinway factory was opened. After nearly a century, the piano company has undergone family and ownership changes. Today, it operates under the three lines of Steinway, Boston and Essex.
